Tisztaszoba (Clean Room)

Many ethnic Hungarian-owned houses in Mezőség (Transylvanian Plains) still preserve the tisztaszoba (clean room), a kind of parlour used only to store and display family possessions such as painted furniture, decorated plates and ceramic bowls. The clean room also contains a vetett ágy (made-up bed) with a huge collection of embroidered pillows.
