Athens at Sunset from Lycabettus Hill
Lycabettus hill with a height of 277 meters (745 ft), is the tallest hill in the capital, offering a panoramic view of almost the entire city.
According to Greek mythology, Lycabettus Hill is a rock which the goddess of wisdom, Athena, was carrying for the fortification of the Acropolis. Suddenly, a raven brought her bad news and the goddess dropped the rock at the place where Lycabettus stands today. The legend also says that from that day all ravens were turned black.
