The Bálna (‘Whale’), a striking glass structure, was designed by Dutch architect Kas Oosterhuis and built around two existing warehouses on the riverbank. It houses the New Budapest Gallery, focuses primarily on contemporary art, with exhibitions on avant-garde works in the 20th century, and has a range of shops, restaurants and cafes.
