Badi Lake is located about 10 km from Udaipur. The 'City of Lakes' boasts of a hidden natural beauty that has recently been discovered, the Bahubali Hills, or as the locals call them, the Badi Hills. Badi Lake is an artificial freshwater lake built by by Maharana Raj Singh I (1652-1680) in the village of Badi to compensate for the devastation caused by famine.
Badi Lake is now home to a rare species of fish, the mahseer (also known as the Tor Khudree/Deccan mahseer).
