When Archduchess Maria Klotild of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha commissioned the construction of two twin palaces — mirror images of one another on either side of the approach to Elisabeth Bridge — she could never have imagined that a century later they would house two luxury hotels, including a St. Regis that has just made a royal entrance into the Hungarian capital.
