Caño Palma Wildlife Reserve
Caño Palma or the ‘Palm Canal’ is lined with bushy royal palms and leafy Yolillo palms that darken the waters adding to the reserve’s reputation as the home of “nocturnal” wildlife.
Caimans and crocodiles float lazily in this area while sea turtles of all kinds make Cano Palma their home. No roadways exist here and traveling can only be done by boat. Visitors can see a secondary forest in transition which is backed by a primary forest just beyond.
