Farmers from the region bring their goods, fruits and vegetables mainly, to the markets and sell them to local dealers. They stay on the boat for about 4-5 days until everything is sold. All big boats have a pole. Each wholesaler hangs the goods he sells on this bamboo pole. Smaller boats then sail up to the larger ones and negotiate purchases.
