Located in the Colaba area of Mumbai, India, on the shores of the Arabian Sea and next to the famous Gateway of India monument, is the famous 5-star Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. Built-in the Indo-Saracenic Revival architectural style, the hotel was first opened in December 1902.
In November 2008, 10 members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a militant Islamist organization based in Pakistan, carried out 12 coordinated shootings and bombings in Mumbai over four days.
